China & Hong Kong/Hong Kong hotels

Question
The amount of hotels in Hong Kong is bewildering!  Can you personally recommend one which is medium priced and comfortable with preferably decent restaurants nearby?  Many thanks

Answer
Hello Diana,

Sorry for the delay, I have been extremely busy as of late organising travel for some clients of mine! You didn't mention when you would be travelling to HK so I hope I still have time to recommend a great place!

I was in HK last year and stayed at a hotel called The Charterhouse. I had heard of this hotel before I started researching places to stay and it kept coming up in all my searches and so I thought I would give it a try. I found that the hotel's own website had better deals than the hotel search engine sites which isn't usually the case. I was also happy that I didn't need to pay a deposit online before I arrived.

The Charterhouse is between Wan Chai and Causeway Bay on the HK side. It is about a 10min walk to Times Square too, so an extremely useful location. Breakfast was included and it definitely leaves you feeling satisfied for the day. The room I booked was on the small side (which they all are in HK!) but was fine. It is one street behind the main road (Hennessy Road) where you can catch a bus or a tram into Central.

Coming out of the hotel and turning left there is a Thai Restaurant which has very reasonable prices for HK and a Thai owner who is lovely!

I hope this is of some help to you!
