China & Hong Kong - Hotels in Shanghai

Expert: Victoria Hamilton - 9/9/2009

Question
Hi there,

Have 2 questions.

I will be going to Shanghai for approx 10 days, just wondering if you have links to any not so expensive hotels.

Also I am in NZ, so what business opportunities could I bring back and set up, if any??

Just looking for some guidance.

Answer
Hi Ed,

Question no. 1 is certainly easier to answer, so I'll start there!

Have you read about Shanghai, found out about the different areas of the city, what you can see in each one etc? If you have done that, that is a great start as you will then be able to help me out when choosing hotels. Another area I would need to know about is your price range...your 'not so expensive' could be different to mine!

A website that can you help you in the process is www.ctrip.com (This link will take you the hotel page, you can change the dates I inputted -

Question no. 2 is a pretty wide question because it all depends what you have an interest in. There are many business opportunities to be had in China and therefore Im sure there are many ideas floating around. It all depends what is needed in NZ and what would sell/work well etc. That unfortunately I cannot advise you on because when it comes to China, the world really is your oyster!

Victoria.
