China & Hong Kong/Tiger Leaping Gorge in winter

Question
Hello Nilesh
I plan to do a cycle tour in South West China this winter. Since I will be travelling by bicycle it is particularly important that I know what weather to expect.
I am considering beginning my cycle tour at either Zhongdian or Kunming. This will be on about 18 November.
What temperatures can I expect in the area around Zhongdian (Tiger Leaping Gorge) at this time of year? Is there normally snow here in November?
Should I forget about seeing Tiger Leaping Gorge and rather begin at a warmer place such as Kunming?
Any advice will be appreciated.
Many thanks
Kevin

Answer
Hello Kevin,

I don't know about Zhongdian province but I'm reasonably sure that in Kunming province it does not snow as it is too much to the south - right next to Myanmar (Burma).

The internet weather sites like accuweather.com or cnn.com/weather, etc should be able to keep you in touch with the latest weather in anypart of the world.

Hope this helps.
