I am having difficulty softening rice paper for spring rolls. When soaked together, they stick together. They also are too delicate when soaked they fail to allow for compression. What am I doing wrong? Steaming does they same problem. I soak the sheets in a plate with water. I used to soak them on a wet towel but that does not work. What do you do?

I never tried making springroll in overseas.....I guess that the paper you bought might be too thin or too dry....you could try to put some oil on it, them try to steam them again......wish you good luck.
