Question
QUESTION: Hi,
Among some other destinations in Asia I am contemplating travelling to china in august/September. Where would you recommend for cultural uniqueness, architecture, minimal tourism, friendly people. Weather is important also where would have a nice climate. Thanks.

ANSWER: Hello Joseph,

I think August/September is an excellent time to travel to China. Anything later and it would be a bit too cold. China is a huge country and it would not be possible to cover all it's uniqueness, architecture etc in this space.

I suggest you purchase a good travel book on China - Lonely Planet is recommended but you could as well try other publications like Rough Guide, Lets Go, Fodors or Frommers. Try your local book-store or order from lonelyplanet.com. The book will help you get an insight into the questions that you're looking for and will help you to make the correct decisions.

Hope this helps.

Have safe travels

QUESTION: Thanks for your reply,
I dont suppose you know of any other destinations in the area which would be suitable weather wise for the same time period,
Thanks again, Joseph

Answer
The Kunming province of China - located in the south bear the borders of Burma, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia - is also a good area to visit in late autumn.

Although I have not been there, I understand that it's quite different from the rest of China because of the ethnicity of its people and the climate.

Hope this helps.
