Question Hello my name is Andreas and i would like to ask from you a translation of two
sentences from english to chinese if of course you have the spare time to
assist me... i have a friend of mine who is addicted with chinese language. His
birthday is coming up so i decided to carve one of these two sentences
(translated into chinese of course) on a sea rock that i have in my
possesion..... Your help would be very much appreciated as i dont know where
else i can get help for a matter like this...
Here are the two sentences
1) It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up
2)I would rather die standing than live my life on my knees
I believe that there is a problem with some computers to properly show chinese
characters so if you can pls try sending an image copy of your answer to my
email which is kompinadoros@walla.com
Thank you in advance for your time and your help....
Answer Hi Andreas.
I think your friend is very lucky to have you as a friend.
I'd love to help. Attached please find the translation. Please notice that there are two versions: simplified characters and traditional ones. before you carve, i suggest you make sure which ones your friend is learning.
one more thing about the translation, for the 1st sentense, it is translated according to its meaning; for the 2nd one, there just so happen to be a chinese saying that means exactly the same, which makes it look very neat.
If there are further questions, please feel free to contact me.
good luck!
John
here is the translation:
Simplified:
1)被击倒了并不可怕,重要的是你是否还能站起来。
2)宁可站着死,绝不跪着生。
Traditional:
1)被擊倒了並不可怕,重要的是你是否還能站起來。
2)寧可站著死,絕不跪著生。
