Question
Hi Shannon,

I fortunately found this site and I'm hoping you can offer some suggestions. I'm a Real Estate agent in Rhode Island and recently worked with a Chinese family to purchase a home. After spending almost 3 months in our search together for the perfect home for them, making sure it was right for them and provided the correct feng shui, we became quite close and they consider me a very good friend of theirs as I feel exactly the same way. They so kindly purchased a jade bracelet for my own mothers birthday. I assisted them in every aspect of the home purchase and now, even after they closed, we expect to visit often as friends. My dilemma is they have already provided me an additional gift for helping them. I however have not been able to figure out what is the perfect gift and appropriate. Could you offer some suggestions for me of what to buy and where?

Answer
Dear Jeff,

Chinese are always addicted to the history and culture, especially
Chinese outside of China. You may find there is always furniture or articles with Chinese characteristics. So I think they will really appreciate it if you can give them a gift like that, anything that can remind them how much you respect Chinese and Chinese culture, or an antique from your own area would be nice. It doesn't have to be expensive of course. It all shows your sincerity and respect.

I am not sure where you can buy those things there. If you cannot find one, just try online.

Good luck.

Shannon
