Red stamp
Hello Sr William,
How are you? I have nice chinese brush pot! It looks old, but i can not decipher the stamp. Can you help me, please?
Kind regards

Hello, Szonja,

It is indeed very nice to hear from long-time friends like you.  I hope all is well with you.

The red stamp that you posted (though the image is not very clear) carries the following Chinese words:

and, whereas:

尚書(Pinyin: shng shū. Meaning: a low ranking clerical official responsible for delivering monarchy orders and announcements) 制誥(Pinyin: zh go. Meaning: a Letter Patent);

Reading the words together, the term has the meaning of "a Letter Patent (a legal instrument in the form of a published written order) issued by a (low ranking) Clerical Official".

I hope you'll find the above information helpful.  Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any clarifications.

With warm regards,

Sir William
