My friend has come down with ovarian cancer.  I wanted to know what are some of chinese customs when a close friend is sick?

I'm very sorry to hear that.

Honestly speaking, we don't have any special customs for friends who are sick. What we usually do is still like you, send some gifts or flowers.

You may also send her some flowers. I'm sure she will be touched by your sincere wishes.
