What is the history of tattoos or the importance of them in China?
Dear Tanis,
Tattoos can dates back to 220 BC. In history, prisoners or law-breakers would be tattooed on their face to show people that they were dangerous. So in Chinese culture, Tattoos is not a sign of bravery or courage. But nowadays, more and more Chinese people wear tattoos because of the influence of western cultures. So in young people's mind, tattoos are fashionable and trendy and the historical impact of tattoos in fading away.
