There is no convenient way to learn chinese.  There are only a few 'decent' sites for beginners but I haven't found any others. Even those who speak both Eng and Chn are often not good teachers because of the complex differences between the 2 languages. But think of learning chinese like learning english but without the alphabet. You just have to learn each new word in/out of context creating frustration, confusion and lack of motivation.
