Chinese Cuisine/Scallions
Expert: Louis M. Wu - 1/3/2009
QuestionCan anyone solve this for me because I have been wondering for a long time. I have bought scallions from several different supermarkets and asian and places that sell nothing but veggies and fruits. When I taste that scallion it doesn't taste as good as the scallions from chinese restaurants. The ones from the restaurants smell better too. Only a restaurant person would probably know the answer. I have grown my own scallions and they don't taste like the restaurant ones. So can anyone tell me how to get a hold of the better tasting green scallion? And where can I get something so that I can grow my own like the chinese use in their restaurants. Much appreciated.
Answerhello Annie!!!!!!!
this is Chef Wu how are you? those scallion that we use in chinese
restaurant are order through our chinese grocery company. not your average scallion that you buy at grocery store, 1 things that you can try is go in to your favorite chinese restaurant that you know
them like a family and ask them if they are willing to sell you some
scallions that they use ans see what happen!!!
hope this helps!
