Chinese Cuisine/eating with many, many bowls...

Question
hello. i have a question just out of curiosity. i go to a bubble tea house and there is a family (typically around 3 people) that come in there from time to time. they sit and eat for hours using enough bowls to fill the top of a large table (that would normally seat about 10 people). they seem to have large bowls (around 18) and small ones (around 6). as we have observed, they seem to be washing and dipping things in the various bowls. they are said to be from hong kong (so the wait staff has told us). is this some kind of chinese tradition? if so, what does this whole process symbolize? i thank you in advance for your time. have a wonderful day...

Answer
hello Tai!
this is Chef Wu, how r you? those family that use so many bowls
had no bearing on a chinese tradtion. they must have lots diffrents
types of dishes that they are consumming thats why they are
so many bowls on the table. hoep this helps. you have a great week
