Question
I read on your website that basically there is nothing that can be done to "repair" this since it is part of aging BUT what about a disc with "spurs" on it?  Do I do physical therapy to help keep this issue from getting worse?  Also, on the same side, my shoulder/neck area is killing me...is this all related?

Answer
First, let me apologize for the lateness of my reply; I was on vacation and forgot to set an away message.  The spurs are a protective mechanism by the body to give strength to the damaged disk.  Chiropractic with a good rehab program can help immensely to keep it in check.  the shoulder and neck may be sore because of this; when there is a mechanical instability in one area of the spine, it can affect the stability of other areas through compensation.
