Chiropractors/back pain

Question
I am an athlete, bicyclist, age 58.  I have had lower back pain for over a year.  I had an xray which showed I had a small bulge in the L5 / S1 disk area.  I had a "pain shot" and it helped but now the pain is back.  Are there exercises I can do that will help strengthen my lower back without agitating the disk.  I have been going to a chiropractor and he adjusts my neck (arthritis in the lower neck), and adjusts my back via lying on my stomach and pressing several places on my back plus lying on each side, using my bent knee and shoulder - giving a twisting adjustment.  Any suggestions?  Am I wasting my money with the chiropractor?
Thanks so much, Gary

Answer
Hi Gary,

Yes, you are waisting your money with this Chiropractor. The Gold standard and only proven way to non-invasively reduce a disc herniation is with flexion/distraction. It is over 90% effective and will give significant relief in a week. Find a DC with the money to afford this type table. Below I have supplied a link that describes the procedure, call around your local area and ask if they have F/D tables. This is the only way to fix a disc without surgery.
