Chiropractors/pain in upper back

Hello Dr. Durnin,

After a month of strong coughing  I started to feel pain on my right upper back deep, it doesn't hurt when I sit or sleep but hurts when I walk or  bend  and also when I take a deep breath. I do not take any medicines or do any treatment, what do you suggest?

Coughing for a month from what?

Either way, you may have cracked some rib cartilage, pulled an intercostal muscle, developed pleuritis, have other underlying systemic issues or threw your back out. I would see a DC and find out which it is or how many things it is. With such little info and my horrendously busy schedule, I can be reached by phone on my website, the emergency # is my cell and will be easiest. I would see a professional in person. If money is an issue, wait and use ice to see if it improves, if it doesn't, go see a doctor.
