Chiropractors/Neck locking

Question
throughout my life I have had several minor neck injuries. Over the past few months, my neck has been getting more and more painful. I cannot turn my head left because my neck will lock and I ALWAYS have a severe headache. MRI and Xray say nothing is wrong, but trust me, something is seriously wrong!! I have small children and cannot live like this. What is wrong with my neck? Is there a name for it? Is there treatment? Dr.'s around here don't seem to have any answers for me. Please help!

Answer
Chantelle,

Always a good idea to have a second opinion or third on your MRI of the cervical spine just to make sure there is no damage to the joint.  If not, often scar tissue, muscle strain or ligament sprains can affect the neck causing severe pain upon movement.  You may want to see a Doctor of Chiropractic who specializes in Sports/Soft Tissue injuries as they will be able to feel and diagnose the affected area.  Misalignment of the spine may cause your symptoms.  Doctors of Chiropractic are the only doctors licensed to adjust the spine or any joint in the body, this helps restore mobility and proper biomechanics of the joint.

Have a great day,
