Question
Hello, I am in the army and I am looking at possible medical discharge. I have had back problems going on 5 years. I had a breast reduction, been to physical therapy twice, chiropractor, X-rays, and 2 MRIs. Finally the test showed I have minor 1mm bulge in L2/3, minor 1mm bulge in L4/5 2mm bulge in L5/si. Also found a pocket of free fluid in my pelvic area. So what does all this mean in a nut shell?

Answer
It can explain why you have some back issues!!!  First, I wouldn't panic over the results.  The bulges described are minor.  In fact, 85% of the adult population has bulges of this extent with no symptoms.  The pocket of free fluid can be from many causes; that would have to be determined by a medical doctor.  I would suggest, for the back issues, to seek out a practitioner of the McKenzie method.  They would best be able to serve you for the bulges and any effect they have on your back problems.
