Chiropractors/rib pain

Question
i currently have several ribs out of place on both sides, ibuprofen, ice, heat, rest, you name i do it, its not working. breathing is getting to be rather painful, to say the least. what else can i do to get the pain under control, and the swelling down so my ribs go back in?

Answer
Assuming that it is actually a displaced or subluxated rib (multiple subluxation ribs is quite uncommon, unless you have sustained a trauma) causing your problem, the only real solution is to have it adjusted by a competent chiropractor.

Other possible causes of pain in the rib area, such as intercostal strain, should also be investigated.

A family physician may also be consulted for appropriate pain control medication.
