Chiropractors/upper back pain

Question
I am having pain to the left of my spine in my upper back and neck. This is not the first time I have had it and it usually lasts for about a week.  I am having it alot more frequently lately.  It hurts  to turn my head, bring my chin to my chest or go backwards with my head.  It also hurts to just sit.  The only time it feels better is if I hunch over.  I have been seeing a chiro almost every day with no relief.  I have also had some type of sever sinus infection for 2 1/2 mos. now and it won't go away.  I am miserable.  I do not have  my gallbladder anymore.  Could the two be related?  Also, how does a chiropractor know when to tell someone if they should see a physician?

Answer
First, I feel for you.  Pain, especially in this area, sucks...to put it mildly.  There are muscles from the mid back up to the head which may be causing the problem you describe.  If you have been treating every day, it should be easing within a week.  If no change, you should see your primary care physician to make sure that nothing more serious is occuring.  The sinus infection, in a round about way, can be contributing to it; having no gallbladder shouldn't contribute.
