Question
My question to you is which Dr. should I consult about my back and neck?  I have days when I don't want to move.  Should I see a Orthopedic Dr. or a Chiropractor like yourself?  I don't want to live like this any more.  I need some advise.Thank you

Answer
Tina,

Chiropractors are spine care specialists.  We are trained to examine and treat neck and back conditions.   Unless you have a surgical issue, there is no reason to see the orthopedic doctor first.  See the chiropractor first.  If you don't have improvement in your conditon within a few weeks, then discuss referral options or other treatment options with the chiropractor.   Sometiimes you will be referred to see a Physiatrist and not an orthopedist if the chiropractor cannot help you.  If all you have is spine pain and no underlying neurologic disorder or systemic disease, then odds are the chiropractor will be able to help you.
