Question
with so many decompression table like spinemed, DRX 900 and others ... which is best for treating long standing (-two years ) cervical cord compression ?. Are cervical decompression as safe as lumber decompression? C4,C5,c6,c7can cervical decompression be given to a patient who also had histroy of Multiple myloma and is in remission ?
any special precaution you recommend?

To the best of my knowledge, the Cox Table with Cervical Distraction headpiece is the best method. Decompression is just a round-about way of saying Traction. That's all it is. When you traction a joint apart, it will decompress. There's way too much marketing hype behind the decompression tables, and many doc's push it on an unknowing public. There are home cervical traction devices on the market as well, including a Saunder's cervical traction unit as well as an old fashioned head halter with a rope connected to the door. The Cox Table is an effective way to obtain a decompressive tractioning of the cervical spine with the doctor being in control of the amount of force and also with the ability to move the spine in different ranges of motion at the same time.
