QUESTION: this has been going on for about 2yrs, after I had a fourwheeler accident they said I just have torn muscle but muscle pain should not last this long. I have been to a bunch of chiropracters usually more than 3 or 4 sessions and they have not fixed anything. Seems to make it worse. I have chronic pain usually always a 6. When I am active even doing dishes it is a constant 8-10. MRI's show nothing. I lose alot of sleep over The pain. I have taken vicodin as prescribed But seems I need a higher dose. Was on ER's but nothing only if I exceed the prescibed dose does it help. Do I just have a higher tolerance than normal. I come from a very addictive family I don want to be an addict but this pain. Seems no one can help. I have no idea where to turn next.
AnswerIf you can find a chiropractor that works with soft tissue injuries, it can be quite beneficial. We use myofascial release, cold laser, and ultrasound for these types of injuries, as well as a good rehab protocol to strengthen the injured area. If you are unable to find a chiro. that does this, you may want to try massage, as this can also be very beneficial for muscle injuries, even old ones.
