Chiropractors/Bicep pain

Question
Dr Scott,
I recently started working (last week) with dumbbells after a long time. I did do the proper stretching before working out but for the past 4 days I feel pain in my biceps when I stretch out my arms. I did not hear any popping sounds while exercising (exercised only with 15lb weights). I thought the muscle was stiff as I was doing dumbbells after a long time. I dont have any swelling or bruises. Could you advise.

Answer
Dude, you simply have what's called: "delayed onset muscle soreness," or DOMS.   It will slowly go away.  If you keep on lifting on a weekly basis, this will help prevent it from returning.  DOMS will occur any time you go for too long without challenging the muscle, or if you change your workout to include increased sets or reps when you're not used to doing so.
