Question
Im 24 years old and i just found out i have a herniated disk that is cracked, after being in pain for 5 yrs. What can the doctor do to help me with the problem. is there another way around it with out having surgery done on my spine?

Answer
Hello Nicole,

You may want to see a Doctor of Chiropractic.  After a Chiropractic exam the doctor will be able to determine the severity of the herniation.  Only severe herniations require surgery, moderate herniations can regress with Chiropractic treatment and exercise.  You will want to bring your MRI results with you when you visit the Doctor of Chiropractic.  Most likely if your condition has persisted 5yrs you may not require surgery!

Have a great day,
