Question
Hi, I am a 48 year old female. I fell on my shoulder about 4 years ago. I did not receive medical treatment but did have some pain. About a year later, I started having pain in my neck and shoulder and when I moved my neck there is a crunching/grinding noise. Then came the headaches. All the symptoms are on the side that I fell on including the headaches. About a year ago my doctor put me on migraine medication. I have had a cat scan and that was normal.  I was just wondering if maybe the constant headaches and neck and shoulder pain and might be related?
Thanks,
Jacqui

Answer
It is very possible.  You may have, in effect, caused a whiplash type injury.  I would see a good chiropractor, have x rays, and be evaluated and treated to correct any misalignments.  A good rehab program should follow to improve the strength and function in that area.
