Chiropractors/Face Pain

Question
I have been suffering from facial pain, below the eye and over the bridge of the nose for over a year. I've been to many ENT's and Neurologist who cannot place what it is. I would describe it as a dull constant pulling ache. I first noticed it while sitting at the computer and i know my posture isn't the greatest so i was wondering could this be related to upper spine issues? If so how could it translate to the front of the face?

Only other real information is the pain stops when i gently touch the area effected, almost masking the pain. Also, There have been two relieving factors, a steroid shot (last for a few days) and lying on my back in a pool, though i don't know if that is related to the water just masking the pain.

Many thanks

Answer
Face Pain,  Upper spine, neck pain,

Hello Joe,

My computer has been down, sorry so long to answer.  If I am still able to help, here is my opinion.

Facial pain can conceivably come from upper cervical spine problems.
You have been to ENTs and Neuros, so perhaps it is time to visit a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Since you have been the Medical Doctor route, I assume you have had some combination of head/skull/face Xrays, Ct scan and/or MRIs.
Any information available from these tests?

The upper cervical spine and TMJ have an intimate relationship.  Often the TMJ complaint cannot be successfully treated until the cervical spine is addressed also.

The upper cervical spine, foramen magnum, brain stem, cranial nerves have an intimate relationship.  Proper function of the brain stem, cervical spinal cord, cranial nerves, cervical nerves depend upon the proper functioning of the C-spine specifically and entire spine indirectly.

Yes, visit a Doctor of Chiropractic.  You may be able to find a Doctor of Chiropractic who has additional training in the Cervical Spine and/ or neuro approaches at these websites: National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association www.nucca.org , and/or  www.lifechangingcare.com .  Either of these could help you locate a Doctor near you who practices Chiropractic specific to your complaints.

Good luck, and I wish you good health naturally !
