Chiropractors/loss of biceps

Question
I have just had damage to my left biceps. I have lost 1/3 of my biceps. I am not sure what this will mean. I am very active in the outdoors, archery and photography are 2 of my main hobbies. Just wondering what you might could tell me since I am at a loss here. I have not gotten far enough along to start any rehab. My loss was on the top of the biceps close to the shoulder.

Thanks,

David

Answer
David,

I’m not sure what your question is… muscle atrophy (wasting) occurs over time following injury or loss of nerve supply, not suddenly, and one’s prognosis depends upon a number of factors (i.e., the extent of injury, and patient responsiveness and compliance appropriate rehabilitation).

You should probably be under the care of an orthopedic specialist, who could better address your concerns based upon your individual case.
