Question
two days ago i woke in the morning to find that i had a sharp pain in the right hand side of my chest, which seems to move to my shoulder at times. at first i thought that i had just slept in an odd position but this is my third day now and the pain just seems to come and go when it likes.

i am a smoker, and smoke between 3-5 cigarettes a day. and two weeks ago i was involved in an accident, but am unsure if that could be a cause of the pain given its sudden start.

Answer
Simon,
There are many toxic chemicals in cigarettes bought at a store.  So many that you are better off growing your own tobacco, and smoking that if you need to have it.  Otherwise you should quit smoking at once, it is horrible for your health, even if only 3-5 cigarettes a day.  If you are doing it every day, it is accumulative destruction in your LIFE.
Next, the big thing that alarms me here is the accident two weeks ago.
I have some questions for you though:
Have you been checked out since the accident?
Did you go to the hospital after the accident?
Do you take any medication regularly?
Do you drink alcohol?

Nothing is bigger than LIFE.
