Chiropractors/Pain in upper back

Question
Hello. I recently started have pain in upper rightside of my back near shoulder blade almost like i have a knot there. It's a dull achy pain. I can feel it in my chest as well near my breast. If I take a deep breath I can feel a bit of discomfort on the right side only. I have recently been sleeping with my arms above my head at night (not sure why). I'm wondering if I have hurt myself by sleeping like this. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Answer
Stephanie,

Yes.  Recently sleeping with your arms overhead can be a factor, for sure.  You also may have had underlying joint or soft tissue dysfunction in your neck or upper back that could have facilitated the problem.  Either way, it is usually easy to fix with manual treatment, especially joint manipulation and Graston Technique (see: www.grastontechnique.com).
