Questionhi I'm 16 years old and for about 3 months now i have been dealing with pain in the mid-lower part of my back (the bottom of the 12 thoracic vertibrae) on the right side of my spine. The pain is dull if in sitting normally or standing up, but when i twist to the left or bend backwards the pain gets almost unbearable. The pain i get feels like pressure and can get pretty bad. It started about 3 1/2 months ago when i was cleaning a wall, the week or so after i was playing volleyball and something in/on my spine had popped and was quite loud. if was tender for a couple days but i still have that tenderness occasionally. I haven't done anything to treat it yet because I'm not sure what's wrong, though i do ice it occasionally but that's it. Can you help me try to figure out what the problem is?
AnswerAmber,
You have joint dysfunction causing joint irritation. A joint "popped" and now you have pain? Simple: Go to a good chiropractor get a few treatment sessions. Odds are you'll do fine and feel better. See if you can find a doctor off of these lists: www.amerchiro.org www.grastontechnique.com www.acbsp.com
