Question Dear Sir,
I was performing Dumbell Shoulder Press in the gym sitting on a bench. Since i was doing the seated version for the first time i didnt get a fair idea of the weights and unfortunately the weights were a bit more. After doing 2 reps there was a slight sound (like click) in the left shoulder and for a moment i thought that something has got dislocated. Immediately i stopped traning, did some cardoi exercises and rushed home. This was arnd 10 in the morning. By 2 pm it started paining a lot and i couldn't move my hand. By evening I went to the doctor. He tried to move the hand in a specific direction and noticed that upto an angle of 30 degrees it wasn't paining but over that there was pain. He said that there was some problem with the deltroid. He advised rest for the muscle using a sling bandage and some painkillers (Ultracet).
Its been 5 days now. The deltroid seems to be ok and i can move the hand. However i feel some pain deep inside (like near the joint). Is it something serious or will heel with time?
Do i need to do an MRI?
wat could b the possible reason.
Please advise.
Answer You may have only caused a deep strain, probably to one of the smaller muscles of the shoulder joint. A visit to a chiropractor that deals with sports injuries would be of best benefit. They can assess and treat it, rehab it, and, if necessary, refer out if the need arises.
