Question
Every day all day my 3rd left rib comes out. i am able to put it back in, but it never stays for long. i have ligamentous laxity, and scoliosis (minor). Are these the reasons for my problem? will it ever go away?

Answer
Hello Kayla,

Often when the ribs subluxate (move out of place)the joint capsule can be torn (ligaments make up joint capsules)thus causing the instability.  Chiropractic adjustments (to restore normal biomechanics), soft tissue treatment (to reduce scar tissue adhesions and muscle spasm), and strengthening of the posterior spinal musculature will help resolve your condition.  Often ribs can be a "nagging" injury due to the fact that coughing, sneezing, deep breathing can cause them to subluxate.  Follow the aforementioned may greatly help your condition!

Have a great day,
