QuestionI have an issue that has been ongoing for several years now and I have been through all types of treatments including chiropractic,PT,orthopedist, pain management etc and yet the issue is unresolved.Basically it is an ache in the vacinity of the si joint on the left side. I am 57 years old and have been running for many years but except for 2-3 sessions of 15-20 minutes on the treadmill per week I have stopped running due to this injury. I do mostly interval work on the stationery bike now which has no ill effect.
I am doing a significant amount of core strengthening such as planks and side planks as well as a lot of stretching in the hip region. I had an si joint injection, 2 other injections based on mri showing some disc bulging, facet joint nerve treatment(radiofrequency, hip injection because a hip mri showed some hip labrum wear and possibly slight impingement. Any advice?
AnswerMichael,
You've had a lot of treatment. When you say "chiropractic," what did that consist of? Have you had this: www.grastontechnique.com? Do you have a leg length discrepancy? Are you doing abdominal crunches (if so, stop)? Has the chiorpractor done any soft tissue therapy? Any lumbar distraction methods? Give me some more information.
