Chiropractors - SI joint Adjustment

Expert: Dr Ron Grassi,DC.,MS.,ACFEI. - 11/2/2009

Question
If you get an SI adjustment and don't need one, can that permanently damage your SI joint?  It has been 12 weeks since my side posture adjustment and since then my SI joint aches, hurts to sit and feels really nervy.  I almost feel like it is out of alignment.  In your experience how long do these joints take to heal? I haven't been back to the chiropractor since that adjustment.

Answer
Hi Trevor: I suggest you go back to the Chiropractor and give him a chance at an explanation. I was not there so I really have no way of knowing what happened. There are a range of things that could have occurred. But, I am not in a position to speculate with only this much information. Go back. Get an explanation. Then, let me know what you learned. BELIEVE ME. That Dr WANTS to hear from you. Get back to me. I seriously doubt your SI is permanently injured. However, if it feels like it is out of alignment, it might well be. 12 weeks is a relatively long time. Dr Ron Grassi, DC.,MS. Jupiter, Florida.  www.DrGrassi.com
