Question
After my last two neck adjustments, I got an INTENSE shooting pain down my left arm from underneath the armpit to my left pointer finger. The pain is intense for a few minutes then goes away.   What does this mean.  Each time I mention it to the dr but he doesn't react.

Answer
Hi Carol,
INTENSE pain is not a normal reaction after spinal manipulation. You may have a condition that requires another form of treatment other than manipulation to that area and perhaps the adjustment aggravated a underlying condition. Perhaps soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, exercise may be better suited to your condition. I would recommend that perhaps you tell your doctor that you are very concerned about these intense symptoms which are occurring and if he/she does not react, you should seek another doctor who does react.
