Question
I fell recently on my back. I have been going to a chiropractor, for a couple of weeks, but I don't feel that much better. How long before I am feeling beter?

Answer
Dawanna,

If you don't feel at least 50% better in the first six treatment sessions, then the treatment is not working.  Either the treatment itself is not effective becauase the doctor has not targeted the right area or made the proper diagnosis, or you just are not a good responder to it.  If you have a lot of tissue damage (I don't know from what you told me just how bad a fall you took, how old you are, if you have any underlying issues such as osteoporosis, etc), then pain relief can take a bit longer.   If you are in good physical shape, healthy, and didn't break anything, then the combination of joint manipulation, targeted soft tissue therapy (active myofascial release, Graston Technique, massage, etc), and exercise should improve your condition within a few weeks.   If your chiropractor is doing the wrong types of treatment, then you may not ever get relief or you will slowly get better on your own.  Not all chiropractors are the same.

'Hope this helps.
