Question
Hello Dr Newhart,

I have an 8 month old who has been diagnosed with a high arched palate of the mouth. Do you think chiropractic treatment would help fix the problem during this stage of rapid growth? If chiropractic treatment helps, what are my treatment options, can you guide me?

Answer
First, I would like to apologize for the tardiness of my reply:  I was away from all technology for the weekend.  I would be hesitant to try any direct treatment of the palate when so many things can change relative to the shape during the growing phase.  It may straighten itself out as your child develops.  As far as a direct treatment by chiropractor:  I would not be resistant to have your childs spine checked to make sure the alignment is correct.
