Question
I can not seem to find an answer to my question anywhere on the internet. Does djd cause sacralization?

Answer
No - sacralization is when part of the fifth lumbar vertebra develops characteristics of the sacrum, the skeletal structure directly below it, presumably as the result of a genetic defect. Generally, sacralization does not produce significant symptoms, but some might argue that sacralization might predispose the individual to degenerative joint disease (DJD) as a result of chronic faulty biomechanics.
