Chiropractors - left glute/groin pain

Expert: Dr. Paul Newhart - 6/23/2009

Question
A guy called James expressed the symptoms below which perfectly describes my symptoms. Is there any way to find out what was his actual problem and treatment.

Chiropractors - leg/groin pain
Expert: Victor Dolan, DC, DACBSP - 9/23/2008

Question
Pain started in left glute, then seemed to hit left groin/inside left leg area, and radiate between the two in severity and frequency depending upon activity levels.  Lying down caused groin area pain, sitting and driving caused buttocks pain.  No memorable event to cause onset of pain.  No actual pain in lower back.  Has been suggested this might be associated with sciatia or a bulging disc.  Does sciatic run to groin area?

Answer
sciatica, herniated disc, bulging disc, pinched nerve, groin pain, buttock pain, no particular trauma, low back pain,

Hello James,

Answer
Sciatica typically runs down the leg, and can run to the foot.  Pain into the groin, we have found in our office, can typically be associated with spasm of the Psoas/Iliacus muscles (barring any medical problems the cause the pain).  I would suggest a good chiropractor to evaluate and treat it, and to rule out the possibility of it being a medical problem.
