Question
i went to the gym for the first time with a friend i was lifting weighs. i was pushed by my friend to lift heavier and hevier weights. it felt very uncomfortable but carried on the next day i was in so much pain my arms are very sore i cannot lift them very high without pain and i cannot stretch them out straight my chest is very painful and feels bruised to the touch i am in so much pain what should i do regards simon

Welcome to the world of working out!!!  What you probably are experiencing is strain from over working the muscles.  You will be sore for a few days, and it will lessen.  Try to resist, even with pushing, to go so heavy.  Things you can do are:
Hot baths/showers.  Increases the circulation to clear out the lactic acid build up associated with the muscle pain.  Range of motion of all affected body parts, and gentle stretching can also be beneficial
