Question My neck has made a grinding sound as I turn it back and forth for several years. Now I notice a strange sound with a funny feeling with my breathing while twisting my upper body. I have never been in a car accident or had any other injury that I am aware of. Should I get this checked out by a doctor?
Answer I would firstly have it checked by a family doctor first. Having a change in sounds while breathing may indicate a problem that would need to be addressed. as long as everything is clear medically, I would then check with a good chiropractor to make sure that there is no undue tightness in muscles associated with the ribs (which should move when breathing), and the spine to make sure everything is aligned correctly.
