Chiropractors/Buttock Pain

Question
I have a 17 year old daughter that is experiencing pain in her buttock just where the cheeks meet at the top of her but (near her lower back).  She is physically active on a daily basis with her marching band, and this just stated a week ago.  What could be the cause for this?  I've read a lot of information but it all seems to be about lower back pain.  Any information will be helpful

Answer
Hi Angela,

It seems the area you describe is located at the joint where the hip joins with the low back.  We call it the SacroIliac joint.  It is common for female compare to male to have pain at this area especially when near menstruation.  The ligaments holding the joints in tight for stability will become loose which will cause pain at the area especially with movements such as in her marching band activities.  Other cause may be trauma where she falls or has direct impact to the area.

To be precise and certain, have her visit a chiropractic office for a complete examination.
