Chiropractors/knee trouble

Question
Hi there, I recently read a response from one of the other doctors regarding knee trouble and when the knee "clicks".

Recently I have played football alot and after one night my knee starts clicking when I bend it and straighten it. It is not painful but the noise goes through me every time. I have been taking glucosamine sulfate 1000mg a day the past week but I was wondering is it worth going to the doctors about? I want the noise to go away as soon as possible. I am still going to play football once a week as I love it too much but at the same time I am concerned about my knee.

Please help.
Thanks

Answer
The clicking could be a tear, or inflammation.  I would suggest trying an anti inflammatory first, coupled with icing.  A visit to a good sports chiropractor should be able to treat most of the musculoskeletal problem and assist you in determining if there is a tear; a proper referral would be made for that.
