Question
I am having this lower back and butt pain when stand up straight and bend down. It happened after I was working at the hospital on Thursday. We were busy that day. I came home and nothing felt wrong. Then after one night of sleep I still felt like nothing was wrong but when I got to class to bend or sit the back of my butt and lower back would have this radiating pain. I get it when I'm sitting and driving sometimes. I can sit on the ground and bend my legs up to my chest and no pain. When I stand up I get pain. When I stand no pain. It felt that the pain increased a little after I worked at the hospital on Thursday this week. I still can sit and do other stuff but can't bend when I'm standing straight up. I don' take anything for it because there only pain when I stand and bend or twist a very specific way. It doesn't hurt when I push on the spots in the back and butt.  I'm 27 years old.

Answer
Kotomi,

From the information you provided me, it sounds like you simply have a mechanical lesion in the lower lumbar spine or SI joint.   It could be an adhesion in the connective tissue or fascia, or in the interconnecting lumbar facet joint on the back side of the vertebra.  Facet joint pain is notable if you stand up, twist, and bend backwards.  It doesn't sound like you have anything bad going on from the information you provided, e.g. you're not sick, no radiating calf/foot pain or numbness, etc.   I'd suggest getting to a chiropractor and seeing if simple joint manipulation resolves the problem.

'Hope this helps.
