Chiropractors/Should I be a Chiropractor?

Question
I desperately want to be a chiropractor, but I'm not good at all in math. I barely passed algebra in high school. I just wanted to know how much math I would have to take in college and if you think I should even waste my time with this career?

Answer
Hello Arria,

What a great Question!, What a Great Career!, Chiropractic helps people become healthier NATURALLY, safely, efficiently!

To become any type of Doctor takes a LOT of time and dedication.

To become a Doctor of Chiropractic you will need four years of undergraduate college.  After you get your degree in Biology, Chemistry or Physics, you may be accepted to Chiropractic School.

After four years of College you then will have four more years of Chiropractic School.

Chiropractic requires undergraduate college biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics as pre-requisites.  I do not recall a specific mathematics requirement, but bio, chem and physics were ALL required---- AND ALL require a LOT of math.

I do not know if you should waste your time with four years of college if you cannot pass the math.  Chiropractic is the world's GREATEST career (my opinion), helping people towards health, helping athletes improve performance, AND as is often said: '....adding years to life, and life to years....'.

You ask; "....and if you think I should even waste my time ....", probably NOT, unless you can study and get your grades up- and that includes the math grades!

Good luck in whatever career you choose! Chiropractic is a great career, a great healing profession, but not for everybody! For instance I could never be a research scientist- I love being with people!, even though I love books and learning and seminars,,, I could never be locked in a room with experiments.  I could never be a Baseball Umpire- I hate people yelling at me; BUT some people LOVE being scientists, some people love being umpires.

Find your niche, enjoy your niche, be good at your niche!
