Question
Hi, I have been experiencing pain in my left leg mainly behind my knee and my calf.  It is not relieved by rest and I often feel it when I wake in the night. I had a baby 5 months ago and after the birth I ached everywhere but it has got worsein my legs. I have been tested for rheumatoid arthritis and thyroid and that was clear. I am wAiting on results of a full blood count. I am really worried I have a blood clot or something worse. I hVe been feeling a bit of a burning sensation in my calf for two days also

Answer
Lucy,

It is very possible that you are experiencing an effect known as Sciatica.  If this is the case, it is a result of pain in the leg due to mis-aligned vertebrae in your spine.  In that instance a chiropractor who takes films of your spine before he or she does any kind of manipulation or adjustment would be highly recommended.  You also want a chiro that does tests on each and every visit to know when you need a correction and when you dont.
Try this route first before you go down the path of endless tests and doctors treating the effects of the problem rather than the cause.

Best of luck to you,
