Chiropractors/Rib subluxation
Expert: John Quackenbush DC - 7/29/2010
QuestionI used to work a job where I engaged in heavy repetitive lifting.I notices in my mid back area a squeezing type pain on both sides of the spine. It would bother me when walking or in certain sitting postures.
Lately, the pain radiates to my front ribs and I have breathing problems.I think it could possibly be costochondritis but I dont have the chest pain associated with it.My sternum hurts a little in certain spots, and I have rib pain that comes and goes when pushed on as well.
I have been to the doctor twice and all xrays, blood tests come back good. I was told that it may be gerd(even though I have had it in the past)but Im skeptikal.I was also told that I was "musclebound" in the back from lifting but I dont know if that would cause these symptoms.
I also feel fatigued, shoulders and neck feel strained.I also seem to snap out of it at times and feel fine.Maybe the doctors are missing a rib subluxation or slipped rib when they look at the xrays?Any help would be greatly appreciated.
AnswerRick,
It is very hard to see a rib subluxation and Medical Doctors are not trained to look for them and radiologist don't either unless its so far subluxated that is dislocated. I suggest you get to a chiropractor for an evaluation for subluxation of your thoracic spine as well as your rib cage. I think you are candidate for a chiropractic work up.
If I am correct about the T spine subluxations the fatigue is coming from pinched nerves in the T spine and more than likely the lower cervical spine also.
I hope this helps and that you can find a chiropractor in Finland!!If not try to find an Osteopath that believes in manipulation.
Sincerely,
