Chiropractors/Neck pain

Question
So it all started about a month ago give a few days. I slept in a different bed then I usually do that night because I was away from home. I woke up with very bad neck pain. The day I got this neck pain I got a bad cold sweat, I went to the doctors that day and they told me its muscle problems in my neck constricting it causing the neck pain. They gave me a dose of keprolac 5mg for my pain, it never really did much except for dull the pain but it wore off quickly. I only took for 7 days. It used to be my whole neck that was in pain then it slowly went down to two sides, then one side, now it sort of switches from side to side or sometimes both sides. I don't have any other symptoms and its not really disturbing my sleep, is there anything wrong because its been a while? Or should I still wait it out. My sister is an RN and told me if its a muscle problem I just have to wait until its gone.

Answer
Krista,

I would encourage you to get a more thorough examination and work up of your neck pain. I would like to see you get x-rays of your neck. This can be done at a local chiropractors office in your town. That way if you have a subluxation or a vertebrae out of place pinching nerves the Chiropractor will diagnose this and formulate a treatment plan for you.

You more than likely have a pinched nerve from a subluxation or a vertebrae out of position pinching the nerve causing you the pain. This may explain why the medication didn't help your situation.

I hope this sheds some light on your health issues and concerns and is helpful in making decisions on what course of treatment to take.

Sincerely,
