Chiropractors/lower back

QuestionThis is more of a comment really. I think there is something that the field of Urology is blowing right past. When a patient has a Dr. visits for your typical male prostate issues BPH etc. One of the question every DR. needs to ask is about lower back pain. Not as in kidneys, as in L4 and L5 pain. I have this funny little machine called a Back 2 Life machine. I have not used it that much but I found that I was having both back pain and problems going to the bathroom. Well after using that thing for 12 min. It helped me considerably in both areas. I remembered I had the same experience using an inversion table where after hanging a bit, I was able to pee NO problem.
What about this?
AnswerClay,
I am not familiar with the back 2 life machine but I can tell you that the nerves coming out if the lower spine will control the function of peeing and excreting as well as sensation in that area ofthe back. This is why the practice of chiropractic is so effective. If the inversion or the btl machine helps to create some structural vibration or take off some pressure in the lower lumbar spine them it makes sense that it can alter function and feeling there.
You are correct in saying that this should be looked into by urologists but I will tell you that as a chiropractor I see this same example for all of the other parts if the body as well.
To simply put it; medical doctors look at and treat the effects of the problem only and chiropractic deals with and corrects the cause.
Thanks for your insight, and I am glad that you were able to find something that could help you, that's what it's all about, feeling better and getting well.
